DIY~HOMEMADE BLEACH SPRAY

I really do not like chemicals but there are times that you just need to use them.  I love using vinegar to clean but that does not always do the trick so that is when bleach comes into play at my house.

I have been meaning to buy some bleach spray but I always forget to put it on my list.  I am such a list person so if it is not on my list I can not remember to get it.  Scott loves to pick on me about my list making.  He did when we were in Key Largo last week.  Well, I think I did well consider I only forgot 2 things and both were not on my list.

Today was trash pick up day and my trash can was rather disgusting looking and smelly.  Pretty sure stuff was growing in it that could have been in a lab.  It was totally nasty.  I really needed some bleach spray and I did not feel like going to the store to get some.  I had my marinara in the canner and did not have the time to go.  I decided why not make some.  It is very easy.  You just need your ratio correct.  You want to make a 1:10 solution.  It is very simple to do.  You use one part bleach to 9 parts water.  Which is 1/4 cup bleach to 2/14 cups water.  This makes a good amount for a spray bottle.

I measured out my water.

Then measured the bleach.

Combine and shake.

I am pretty sure I will never buy a bleach spray again when it is this simple to make your own.

BLEACH SPRAY

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup bleach
  • 1 large spray bottle
Directions
  • Add the bleach then the water to the bleach and shake.

Not only is this super simple.  It is more economical.  Plus my spray only has 2 ingredients.  There is no telling how much other chemicals are used in a commercial brand.  Another great thing about making this is the fact you can double or even triple it to get the amount you need.

You have to be careful with bleach.  The fumes are dangerous so you really need to make sure you use the correct ratio.  Also when mixed with other chemicals bleach can become lethal.  It is really best to mix bleach outside.

As you can see you can use any clean spray bottle.  Mine is a garden bottle that came with something.  The top is from another spray bottle.  Once again my frugal stuff is shining.

ENJOY!!
