A NEW ADDITION TO THE CRISTINA HOUSEHOLD~MEET CHARLEY

We got a puppy.  Yep, a puppy.  She is so adorable. Cute as a button.  I could go on and on like a new mother over her first born child.  I will try not to do that to ya'll.  You may be asking what kind of dog did you get?  Well, she is a Yorkhound.  LOL Yourkhound has a story behind it because technically she is a Dorkie but a good friend of mine said he would never allow someone to call his puppy a Dorkie, aka Dork.  John said a York hound sounds much more distinguished. Yorkhound/Dorkie is a Yorkie and Dachshund mix.  We named our little dork Charley.

I started this entry shortly after Christmas when Charley was 5 weeks old.  For some unknown reason, I never posted it.  Charley is now almost 10 weeks old and been with us for a bit over a month.  She has taken over the house and probably has small dog syndrome aka I am the Queen of the house.

The cats have tolerated her so far without too much of a fight.  I have to say Lola is not a huge fan but the other day she did take a nap with her for a bit.  Willow is more friendly and will play with her some.

We have had a time though with little Charley.  She was a bit sick the first weekend we had her.  She had her first vet visit the Thursday before and by Saturday was not doing well.  We found out from the vet that she was infested with worms.  The medicine they gave her helped her but it has been a battle.  I did a lot of research on natural ways to prevent and treat worms.  Who would have known that fresh chopped up garlic is as effective as a dewormer you can get from the vet.  Preventing and Treating worms in dogs

Hope you all have a great day!!

Enjoy!!
