AMAZINGLY QUICK AND DELICIOUS STEEL CUT OATS MADE IN YOUR INSTANT POT

I have had my instant pot for a year now and I am just as enamored with it today as I was when I first used it.  Having an instant pot just makes life easier.  I can make something in it and have free time to do something else.  Meaning, I do not have to babysit it like you do with cooking on your stove top or in the oven.

One of the first things I made was Steel Cut Oaks in mine.  Scott loves steel cut oats and by using my instant pot I can make them fairly quick.  And they are awesome to boot.  Win. Win.

I say they are quick because of the time it takes to make them on the stovetop verse the instant is quite different.  Plus, as I said, you do not have to babysit the cooking of your steel oats when you make them in the IP.  In all, it takes about 30 minutes but that is only because of the heat up and the natural release time.  The actual cook time is only 4 minutes.  Please do not allow that to make you think that it is too quick.  An instant pot must build pressure in order to cook, that takes a bit of time, maybe 5 minutes.  It is better to do a quick time and have a natural release.  The natural release will take from 10 to 20 minutes.  A natural release just means you are giving your IP the time to de-pressurized without opening the valve.

I love the fact I can make a pot of steel cut oats and box them up into individual serves for breakfast throughout the week.  I do the same when I make Greek yogurt.  Plus you can dress your bowl up any way you wish.  You can add fresh fruit, fruit butter like apple butter, you can pour some agave syrup on them or use honey.  Heck, I love eating it with maple syrup.  You can throw in some greek yogurt and granola.  Even better is the fact, how good steel cut oats are for you.  It is a great way to start your morning.  Steel cut oats is high in protein.  One 1/4 cup serving has 7 grams of protein.

So easy and so good for you!!

ENJOY!
